NYFW – The Show

The actual show I was invited to see was the Christian Siriano’s Spring Summer 2018 collection. The show was held at the Pier 59 Studios – and the first ones at the venue were of course the photographers and press to get the best spot for their pictures. Slowly but surely the who is who in fashion arrived, from fashion editors, celebrity stylists, buyers, bloggers etc… and of course – celebrities. You actually barely see them because the minute they arrive they are covered by Cameras and Photographers.


One of the most interesting things to me was the “Vision Board” – a place backstage where all the inspirations, colors, visions and fabrics for the collection are displayed. Just by looking at it you can get a feeling and a sense of what you are about to see. And when the actual show starts you immediately understand where the designer is coming from and what his idea behind it has been. For me this is where fashion becomes an art form.

All in all it was an amazing experience and very inspiring on so many levels. The whole process of a fashion show was not unfamiliar to me because of my time of being a model in the 90ies. Nowadays I am most fascinated by the creativity, artistry and professionalism of the whole industry itself and all it’s aspects.

Hi Everybody!

Phew – it has been an intense week, lots to do and to get ready for. This Thursday I am having my official Office Reveal Party! – I am almost finished decorating and ready to show all of you;  stay tuned for the Office Reveal post coming up!

But that is just one of my recent projects – I will reveal more of my upcoming events and happenings as we go along.

Today I would like you to choose – I am obsessed with the new sneakers hitting the stores – especially those two styles – The Gazelle by Adidas – it comes in a couple of shades of pink and I am already in love – and the Cortez by Nike – such a cool retro inspired sneaker – I love!

I have been shopping today and got myself one of them – which one? Well you can guess – who knows me well knows the answer right away. But I am still contemplating getting both…

Blue Velvet

Fall is around the corner and I already have my first obsession for the new season…. Velvet… especially Navy Blue Velvet! I love how rich and smooth it looks – this season is all about it, even Shoes and Handbags are coming in all shades of Velvet.

Interesting enough that Velvet was one of my inspirations for my own dress designs earlier this year – I brought out a dark Green Velvet gown for Emerald Ball in May and a Red Velvet gown with an open back for Millennium Dance Championships in June. I guess my gut feeling was right …. Velvet it is!
