Happy Easter Weekend to all of you!

It was a gorgeous and warm day in LA, Dima and I went for brunch and simply enjoyed the atmosphere and the surroundings.

Today I decided to picture the flowers that I found on our way throughout the day. People always say that you have to go and smell the flowers and look at all the beauty around you and that it is a big part of being a positive and happy person.

About 10 years ago, when I was just a couple of years into my first business, I got a little overwhelmed and felt that the pressure of all of it is getting down on me. I have been told that I needed to go and smell flowers and that I need to create a positive mindset.

OK, so I did, I took my dog, Coco, went for a walk and smelled all the flowers I could find. And guess what…NOTHING happened…when I came back I felt the same way. No changes at all!!!

I was close to just giving up on it, and to stay in my misery and wallow in my feelings of the world coming down on me.

But the idea about the flowers stayed in my mind, so despite that nothing changed so far, I continued my little walks and smelled flowers and looked at everything beautiful I could find… and guess what, in a little while I started to feel better. My brain learned to focus on a different reality, it learned to see the beautiful  things around me and it translated quickly into life.

Not only did I feel better, obstacles and setbacks, as disappointing as they sometimes are, were not so hard to overcome anymore. It was like looking past them and just jumping over them rather than getting stuck with them and dwell on everything that was coming my way.

I wanted to share this experience with you, maybe it will stay with you as well…

so for now,

let’s go and smell the flowers and find beauty around us

Everybody needs a break sometimes. Living in a big city can have it’s moments… traffic, hectic schedules, all of the excitement of LA can get exhausting at times. This weekend is perfect for my private little staycation at home. I am enjoying it so much, I feel I am resting and recharging and my mind can get a break from all the constant hustle and bustle and activity. Here is what I like to do on a real day off:

YogaOutlet.com

  1. Wear Comfortable Clothes – this is the time for loose, cozy, comfy outfits.
  2. Leave your to do list alone. Save it for later. It’s your time to unwind. While decluttering a cupboard or putting your desk in order might be enjoyable and necessary, I leave big projects or work alone and save it for later.
  3. Let someone else do the cooking. I do enjoy to cook but on a day like this I enjoy to have someone else do the job and order a takeout or have food delivered.
  4. Read a book or go for an online trip on your I-pad to explore something that interests you. Or maybe you just want to browse some magazines and relax.
  5. Create a clam and peaceful environment. Get brand new bedsheets, a new scented candle, lots of pillows….. and let yourself unwind.
  6. Movie time! Have a movie marathon or binge on your favorite TV show. Find movies or TV shows you always wanted to watch and binge watch it. Or re – watch your old favorites again…
  7. Take a long nap – get some rest – we are all a little sleep deprived. By doing so you will get rejuvenated and feel much better.
  8. Take a walk and breathe some fresh air. Smell the flowers and enjoy the weather.
  9. Spend some time by yourself, turn your phone off and let your thoughts quiet down.
  10. Take a long relaxing bath and pamper yourself. Turn your bathroom into a spa oasis, have a face mask, light candles and enjoy the peace and quiet.

What is your favorite staycation activity? Please share! xoxo BB

A beautiful day

It has been raining a lot in sunny California in the past few weeks but today the sun came out and it was a beautiful day. The rain was much needed out here though, everything is green and lush, it is soooo beautiful!

I spent the day with my lovely horse, his name is Burt…. he had that name when I got him and he listened to it, so I did not want to rename him. Burt is an old guy by now, he is in retirement but he still thinks he is a teenager sometimes and today was the perfect day to have some fun together.

Here is a look book for you, inspired by my riding gear and this beautiful day, I hope you like it!
